2025 Nissan LEAF Electric Driving Range in Toronto, ON
The 2025 Nissan LEAF is an incredible all-electric compact SUV. Nimble and energetic, the LEAF is a great commuter vehicle for an urban driver tackling the mean streets of Toronto. Sometimes, though, you need to go further than the corner store. So, just how far can the 2025 LEAF take you? It turns out it can take you pretty far! Join the team here at Avenue Nissan, as we take a look at the range of the LEAF.
SV Range
The standard model of the 2025 LEAF is the SV, a capable entry-level trim equipped with a 40kWh battery for the all-electric drivetrain. The SV offers up to 240 kilometers of range right out of the gate. That may not seem like much, but don’t give into range anxiety! 240 kilometers is quite a bit. The average Ontario commuter drives only 13 km per day, meaning you could charge your vehicle once every two weeks and never completely drain it. 240 km is a trip to Kitchener and back on a single charge. For a vehicle designed for the urban commuter, it’s more than enough to get you around every single day.
SV PLUS Range
If the regular SV isn’t enough, the 2025 Nissan LEAF SV Plus comes with an upgraded 60kWh battery. The enhanced battery extends the range on the LEAF by over a 100 km, topping out at 342 km on a single charge! If you’re not the average driver, and regularly do a lengthier commute, the SV Plus might be more in line with your needs. 342 km is a trip from Toronto to Kingston with enough battery power left to drive around for the day.
Charging
It’s hard to get out of the mindset of “I need to fill up my car,” so the idea that you can only go 240 km before your car needs to be recharged is a bit daunting. But daunt not! Recharging your vehicle is as simple as bringing the charging cable and plugging into any three-prong 120V outlet. You’re almost certainly never going to fully kill the charge on your battery. Even if you did, it would be completely recharged in about 2 days from the regular outlet in your garage, and you’d be able to drive it around on the partial charge in the meantime. That total recharge time is cut down to about 8 hours with a 240V charger – as simple as plugging it in overnight. A high capacity 480V charging station reduces that to an hour.
